Welcome to my blog! Those of you that know me well are probably chuckling at the very idea of me and a blog. I decided that along with all the other changes in my life I might as well take the opportunity and step into the twenty-first century and I invite all of you to come along.

The purpose of my blog is multi-layered. As many of you know I recently relocated to Orange County after 8+ years in Murrieta. With this move Kevin and I became empty-nesters. Along with having my children gone I left behind a wonderful circle of friends. While I can no longer meet my gal pals in the morning for a cup of coffee I can certainly use this blog to stay connected, and that is my primary intention. I also want to create a community of women to exchange information and experiences regarding this very interesting time in our life. Some refer to it as “the change” while others call it the second-half or the empty nest. Whatever the label I find we are all facing it or about to face it and we need each other to navigate the choppy waters of this transition period.

I know I am faced with the feeling of starting over at the ripe young age of 49. After twenty years of focusing on family and home I had to ask myself what do I want? How will I fill my days and what purpose will I bring to my life and how? I want something I can be passionate about and deeply believe in…it can’t be just about making money and staying busy. These are some of the key questions I have been asking myself over and over this past year. I wonder how many of you are faced with these same questions and what are the answers you are coming up with. I would love for all of us to take this opportunity to share our thoughts and feelings using my blog.

This all seemed fairly overwhelming, but I have taken one of my first steps in the creation of my second-half. As some of you know I have started down a new path with an organization/product called Moxxor. I am very excited about the incredible health benefits of this unparalleled omega-3 antioxidant supplement, not only for women, but for our entire families. It is exciting to actually be creating something. I am working with a website/internet marketing strategist to develop my website and my marketing plan. I am focusing on two niche markets that are near and dear to my heart; children suffering from ADD/ADHA, Autism and Dyslexia. The second group I am focusing on are perimenopausal and menopausal women. I will keep you updated on my adventures and discoveries as I take on the challenge of birthing a new business.

I hope you all will take a minute or two and stay connected. I would love to hear all about what you are doing, reading or simply what you are thinking about these days.

“Life is an adventure to be shared”

Billie

O Magazine/Beauty inside out

Happy Monday to everyone! This is a short and sweet quick post today. I mentioned beauty from the inside out last week and again this weekend  while reading the current issue of O magazine I was hit with much the same information. Great skin needs good supplements and the December issue of O magazine, page 110 outlines what we must have. As always antioxidants and omega-3s are right there at the top of the list. If you are not eating the seven foods mentioned in significant quanities you need to be supplementing your diet.

Great online newsletter

Happy Thursday to all of you! Last night I was on a conference call with the corporate team at Moxxor and I had the opportunity to hear Mike Adams speak.  Mike is known as the Health Ranger and is the co-creator of the online newsletter, Natural News. This newsletter has 1 million plus subscribers and it is a wealth of knowledge in all areas of our health and how to preserve it naturally. We were fortunate to have Mike participating on this call as he is endorsing Moxxor as the number one source for Omega 3s and will be including information about Moxxor on his website.  His comments regarding the skyrocketing cost of health insurance vs. the cost of preserving your health really hit home. Mike really drives home the point that you are what you eat and if you are eating preserved, additive laden foods you will never feel your best. He also speaks to us as parents and what we are feeding our children. If you are the least bit interested in natural healing and health take a minute to peruse his newsletter at www.naturalnews.com.

All of this information made me think about health and the cost to maintain it vs. the cost to repair our health. I have always felt that I have been blessed with good health, but then I realized that over the long-term I have really worked at it. I have always been physically active; careful with my diet; faithful to my vitamins and supplements. The rewards have been many as I realize how infrequent the doctors visits have been and how good I feel as I approach my next BIG birthday. Our health is one of our greatest investments. I hope all of you will take a few minutes to think about what you are doing to insure your good health.

Skin and Omega-3s

Ladies,

I am committed to aging well and in the pursuit of that end I am always reading articles on what it takes to maintain our health and well-being. I just read a great article in AARP magazine of all places. The title “Inside Out Beauty”. The bottom-line is that we need the following in our diets to maintain beautiful skin:

Antioxidants, Vitamin D, Omega-3s, Co-enzyme Q10 and Glucosamine

Check out your diet and your supplement regiem to be sure you are getting these recommended supplements. All the creams and lotions in the world are not going to make a difference if your nutrition isn’t supporting you.
